My Dad’s camp in Tarangire - Leopard Rock a treasured spot

My journey as an artist began as a simple desire to paint. It was an escape, a solace amidst life's chaos. Inspired by Kenyan roots, and its raw beauty, I ignited a lifelong love for the natural world. From the gentle pace of an elephant to the breathtaking flight of a lilac-breasted roller, these images have profoundly shaped my art and I am eternally grateful for this inspiration.

In 2017, the arrival of our first son brought immense joy and a sense of completeness to our lives. Unfortunately, the initial joy of parenthood was soon overshadowed by a series of significant health challenges that would ultimately shape me into the person I am today. Navigating through these unexpected events transformed my perspective on life, the way I see the world, and led me to where I am now.

Through these experiences I was diagnosed with PTSD and found solace in creativity. I discovered a profound appreciation for life's beauty and the power of resilience. Painting became my sanctuary, a place to explore and express my emotions. Looking back, I realised I had changed significantly, and I gained a profound appreciation for the preciousness of time.

In 2020, I started painting in my spare moments, amidst the whirlwind of nursery runs and a job at a lovely TV company. My art was a means to slow down and get lost in nature and the beauty of what surrounds us every day.

Sharing the world of my art with you is a result of a friend's encouragement. She saw my artwork and, inspired she suggested creating a greeting card line. "Just try it and see where it goes," she said, offering invaluable guidance on costing, barcodes, and even potential shops I could contact.

Just before the birth of my second son, my first card range – “Meliora” Latin for ‘for the pursuit of the better’ – was produced. Since then, I've been carefully growing my range, and business, whilst spending time with our children and I could not do this without the incredible support of my family.

This journey has been transformative, enabled me to have the courage to do something I never would have attempted before in addition to helping me so much cope with everyday.

My journey really has only just started and I hope I can continue to do what I love. Thank you to all those who have supported me so far.
